Ohio State Junior Outfielder Bailee Sturgeon gives the anthem buddies high fives
On Saturday, the 8th of April, young softball players from all over the state of Ohio came out to Buckeye Field in Columbus joining the Buckeyes on the field for the National Anthem before the day’s doubleheader against the Buckeyes archrival, Michigan. Hundreds of excited girls poured out onto the field and stood by the Buckeye players as the National Anthem played before a record-setting crowd of over 1,700.
The girls then left the field and returned to the stands to watch the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines under a beautiful, warm spring sky. Sadly, the Buckeyes dropped the doubleheader but all the girls and their families had a great time cheering for their beloved Buckeyes!
